This was my second breast reconstruction following a mastectomy in 2015 with a different surgeon. I had developed complications following a bilateral mastectomy via infection and poor wound healing. Over time, I then developed a capsular contracture. With the other doctor, though she was also a woman, I noticed a very different approach and lack of compassion toward my outcome and to my case in general. There was a lack of attention to detail, prevention and compassion and when things went south, I was left to my own devices and was told repeatedly to accept and just live with chronuc pain and deformity. She left me thinking I had no other options. But I wouldn't give up that easy. I began to have more faith that I could overcome the chronic pain, fatigue and brain fog that I was left with for 11 years. I regained hope that I could and get back the look and feel of more normal breasts again. As a woman, this is really important to me. So I did a lot of research and found Dr Cassileth. Dr. Cassileth is a very knowledgeable, educated and skilled surgeon. She is also very compassionate, understanding, and attentive. She spent ample time with me to review my case and to observe and witness me in my journey with compassion and understanding.. I am so happy with my results so far, though it has only been 1 week since surgery. It's a little soon to tell the full outcome. Her attention to detail and use of preventative measures to reduce adverse effects is impressive and I am so grateful for this. Dr. Cassileth is not only a brilliant, gifted surgeon, she is also first and foremost an intuitive and compassionate soul. Above all, she has meticulously thought of every detail including medications and preventative measures to ensure the best overall outcome. I feel it's also important to include that she is extremely well thought of by her peers, staff, community and most of all, her clients. The staff is also very knowledgeable, attentive, compassionate and easily accessible both on and off hours post surgery. It's very apparent that everyone I have interacted with loves working with her. Overall, I am extremely impressed by The Practice Healthcare in full and so proud of Dr Lisa Cassileth for her tenacity and drive to excel in her field in order to help others look and feel their best.for the highest good.
